How We Keep Your Prawns Cold

An unbroken 0–4 °C cold chain from our Andhra ponds to your door — ice-chilled, never frozen. Temperature is the difference between a prawn that tastes of the sea and one that smells fishy.

Why temperature matters

  • Freshness & taste — prawns held cold stay firm and sweet; warmth breaks them down fast.
  • No fishy smell — a strong fishy or ammonia smell is a sign of a broken cold chain. Ours arrive smelling clean.
  • Food safety — keeping seafood at 0–4 °C slows bacterial growth, so it's safe as well as tasty.
  • Never frozen — freezing and thawing turns the flesh mushy and watery. We chill, we don't freeze.

Keeping them cold at home

  • Refrigerate at 0–4 °C as soon as you receive them.
  • For the best taste and texture, cook within a day of delivery.
  • Need longer? Freeze on arrival — and don't refreeze once thawed.
